Getting Your Skin Ready for The Winter Weather

Posted by Matthew Eng on

There is a chill in the air, and the wind is blowing the beautiful leaves off the trees. Winter is just around the corner! As the temperatures cool, the humidity in the air dips, and can leave your skin wanting more — moisture, that is! While it’s true that the top layer of your skin is damaged more easily in the cold, dry weather, the good news is, with the right preparation, your skin will barely notice the change in seasons! A few things to focus on to prepare your skin are:

Staying hydrated

Hydration is more important now than ever. Dry skin not only gets damaged more easily, but because the top layer of your skin is dry, it makes it difficult for serums and moisture to penetrate through it. Make sure your skincare is as effective as possible by sloughing off the dead skin cells with a gentle exfoliator once or twice a week.  Hyaluronic acid increases hydration by binding to water molecules and holding them in your skin like a sponge. After cleansing and exfoliating, try our Hyaluron Impulse capsules to supercharge your skin’s moisture. Seal the extra moisture in and finish your routine with a rich night cream. For more mature skin, try our Rich Recovery Cream, and for more sensitive skin, try the Night Replenisher. For the ultimate luxurious experience, try our Night Cream, with colloidal platinum, silk acacia extract, lipid complex, and more. We promise you will feel pampered and immediately refreshed!

Continue with sun protection

Even if the sun doesn’t seem as strong this time of year, it’s important to protect our skin before putting on makeup. Try our anti-pollution cream to protect your skin from the elements during the day. Our anti-pollution cream uses compounds such as red camellia extract to strengthen your skin’s resistance to environmental pollutants and Allantoin and Shea butter to soothe and hydrate. For an extra layer of sun protection with the added bonus of light coverage, try our Optimal Tinted Complexion Cream! It provides light coverage to even out your skin tone, helps retain moisture, and has a mechanical sun shield of SPF10.

Ultra-rich day/night treatments

If your skin needs a little more than what is listed above, try pampering it to the max with these ultra-rich treatments!

During the day, use our Rich Nutrient Skin Refiner to give a luxurious boost of hydration, along with the extra layer UV protection your skin needs! The oat extract will help lift and firm your skin while you wear it. At night, refresh your skin and help fight the signs of aging with our Night Cream. This rich cream supports the skin’s nightly regeneration process with ingredients such as colloidal platinum to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, and vitamin E to neutralize damaging free radicals.

Finally, top off your winter skincare routine with the occasional application of our Rich Energy Mask! Packed full of the essential vitamins and nutrients that your skin craves during the winter months, this fast-acting mask can be washed off completely or partially wiped off your skin, and the remainder massaged into your skin for an overnight deep care treatment.
